A lesson from a recent Reiki session.

As I was preparing for a Reiki session recently, I felt a clear nudge:

“Keep them on their back, don’t have them rotate.”

For the last few weeks I’ve been wondering how to adjust sessions for those who fall asleep, because I don’t want to interrupt their rest.

When the client arrived, I explained the session, including rolling to their stomach halfway through.

But as I reached the last position, before asking them to flip, I felt the nudge again:

“Leave them on their back.”

I hesitated… wanting to follow what I had told them to expect.

The moment they turned, my headrest slipped and would not hold up.

Everything felt clumsy. The headrest had never done this before, and I couldn’t figure it out in that moment.

I ended up asking them to return to their back.

I felt embarrassed.

I realized…

That “mistake” was just another reminder to listen to my intuition.

Now, I leave room to follow the energy.

I will let clients know I may ask them to rotate, but only if it truly feels aligned in the moment.

Not everything goes smoothly.

Each moment is a chance to learn, grow, and trust the guidance that’s always there. 🤍
