Pregnancy comes with a lot of advice… wanted or not.

Tips for handling it with grace.

🌿 Remember their intentions

Most people share advice or stories, even the difficult or negative ones, because they want to be helpful.

It often comes from love, care, or wanting to connect.

That doesn’t mean you need to take it on, but sometimes reframing it this way can make it easier to let go.

Handling Advice in the Moment

🌿 Ignore: A simple smile and nod is enough.

🌿 Deflect: Change the subject gently.

🌿 Set Boundaries: “Thank you, but I’d like to focus on positive stories right now.”

When Stories Feel Heavy

It’s okay to step back from negative birth stories or overwhelming advice.

You’re allowed to protect your mental space and only take in what feels helpful.

Practical Reminders

🌿 Talk to your care team if you need clarity.

🌿 Trust yourself, you know your needs best.

🌿 Filter advice: keep what helps, let go of what doesn’t.

At the end of the day, this is your pregnancy and your journey.

🌿 Take what feels right for you and release the rest.

🌿Only you and your baby can write your story. 🤍
